30 Days to Live: Let's Make a Change from Randy Bezet

In church tonight, Pastor Randy talked about what you would do if you found out you only had 30 days to live. What things would you change, what would you do differently?

Well the heart of the matter is that we should always be living like this is our last day. We never know when we will be called home. We should be doing the things we want to do, patching up relationships that need work, get involved in new relationships, and not wait for special occasions. Every day is a special occasion and its one that we need to live and glorify God in.

The following comes from Pastor Randy's sermon outline:

Hebrews 9:27 (NIV) "...man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment."

Turning Points:

Psalm 39: 4-5 (NLT) "Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away. My life is no longer than the width of my hand. An entire lifetime is just a moment to you; human existence is but a breath."

1. Turn When Into Now

Ecclesiates 11:4 (NLT) "If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done."

Enjoy the moment now. Don't wait for the "when" because it may never happen.
"I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do."- Helen Keller

2. Turn Intentions Into Actions

James 4:17 (NIV) "Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins."

  • Prayer

1Peter 4:7 (NLT) "The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers."

  • People
1 Peter 4:8-9 (NIV) "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling."

  • Purpose
1 Peter 4:10-11 (NIV) "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

3. Turn My Whole Heart Toward Jesus

Mark 12:34 (NLT) Realizing this man's understanding, Jesus said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God."

Psalm 90:12 (NKJV) So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

Don't Turn Over a New Leaf, Turn Over a New Life.

Matthew 12:33 (The Message) "If you grow a healthy tree, you'll pick healthy fruit. If you grow a diseased tree, you'll pick worm eaten fruit. The Fruit tells you about the tree."

Change happens from the inside-out. If you're healthy inside, you will give healthy fruit.

So as my "New Year's resolution" (which I will be really making my life's resolution" is to be in continual prayer and to grow deeper in love with the God who still love mes no matter how imperfect I am. I will strengthen the relationships that need work, delve into relationships and get to know more people through Church organizations. I will be more fervent in finding God's purpose in my life, so that I may live my life according to His good and perfect plan.

I hope you will join me! :)

The Undeveloped Story

This is the first blog I've ever written and I wanted to give it a shot. I really like writing and now I have a chance to do it for fun!

I graduated yesterday from USF. It was a long journey that I would have done much differently if I had the chance. There's not enough time for regrets, though, and I've learned from my mistakes. Now that I've finished school, I can't wait to have my life back. I can read all I want and it will be fun, I can write, hang out with my friends, work out/run, and join more small groups at church.

Finishing college comes with the joys of looking for a job that will use your degree. I am pretty lucky to have a job right now as an accountant. I'm not quite sure how much longer this job will last thanks to the economy, though. Hopefully I can keep it until after I go to Israel because I've got vacation time I want to use!

So yeah I'm going to Israel in February for 12 days and I'm very stoked! I've heard so many great stories from those who have gone to Israel. It will be awesome to see the Bible come alive and to see where Jesus walked and ministered to people. I'm going to learn some Hebrew just in case, although I know most of the people speak English. I'm just really excited about going and glad there's only 2 more months until I go!

So right now I'm just trying to figure everything out. I'm thinking about going to grad school next year, I'm trying to figure out what to do with the job situation, and boys are always confusing. I'm waiting on God to point me in the right direction and hoping for the best. I know God has some great things in store for me and I'm looking forward to it!

1 Philippians 4:14
"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
